Insurance

Some travel vaccines may be covered by health insurance, while others may not. It is recommended to check with your insurance provider for specific information on coverage for vaccines.

In case clients ask for DINs (drug identification number) of the vaccines which are given to the insurance companies to see if that specific vaccine is covered or not, please refer to DINs (drug identification number) in connector. We provide the official receipt and they can submit it to their insurance - Travelvax does not offer direct billing

Q: Is the Travel Consultation or vaccines/medications covered by MSP (-MSP, short for the Medical Services Plan, is the public healthcare system in British Columbia)?

A: As this is for travel vaccinations and medications, it is considered a private consultation and MSP does not cover travel related appointments. Some vaccines are covered under MSP as routine vaccinations. This includes, but not limited to: MMR and Tetanus.

Q: Is it just Tetanus and MMR that is covered under MSP as a routine vaccination? On the price list there is a price for Tetanus but not MMR
If they are only receiving tetanus-diphtheria (td), it is covered under msp. If they are getting tetanus-diphtheria-Pertusiss (Tdap), then they would need to pay out of their pocket. The one on the price list is for Tdap.
